They are vibrations that travel through Earth carrying the energy that releases an earthquake.
You know what we learned in Science today? We learned that the Earth and every other planet they are hollow.
My teacher told me that. What do you mean that the Earth is not hollow?
WAIT WHAT DID YOU SAY? WHO TOLD YOU THAT? CAN I BEAT THEM? Oh darling the Earth is not hollow.
So let me guess, the crust is the outer layer, the one with the least dense, and includes both dry land and ocean floor?
YOU ARE RIGHT!!
So Sammy is there anything else that I need to know?
Yes, Olivia there are some more you need to learn. One more thing you need to learn is the Mantle.
The Mantle is located between the crust and the core ,which is the thickest layer. It has 3 parts. The upper (lithosphere), middle (asthenosphere), and lower (mesosphere).
Hold it Olivia I am not done yet. Next up with have the Lithosphere. It is the zone of brittle rock made from the crust and upper layer of mantle.
Later we have the Asthenosphere. The part of the middle mantle that flows like hot asphalt under a heavy weight. Any questions?
I think there is something called the Earth's core and it has 2 layers right? Inner core and outer core. And it is mostly made out of iron. The Earth acts like a giant bar magnet. Right?
