  • The French wanted the Acadians to move to Ile-St.Jean away from the new fort at Halifax. On Ile-St.Jean the population grew quickly.
  • There Wasn't Enough Food
  • And we can't hunt animals
  • Bonnaventure wrote letters asking the French navy for the captured supplies for the newcomers. He believed that live would be good by 1760 and early 1770.
  • The British Destroyed Louisbourg

  • The British deported all Acadians from Nova Scotia but Lawrence didn't get All of them. The disloyal Acadians had to be deported in preparation for war.
  • The Ships Were Flea And Rat Infested
  • There are fleas and rats everywhere
  • Villejouin banned the killing of animals because there wasn't enough food to feed the new refugees as well as the people already living there. Most refugees barely even had any clothes to wear and the crops failed in 1756 and 1757.
  • The crops are failing!
  • The British took Louisbourg in 1758 and destroyed everything. They had learned in the past to not leave the French fortifications.
  • Leave no trace of it
  • Lord Rollo had orders to deport the entire Acadian population. The ships they uesd were flea and rat infested as well as cramped. Disease killed many of the young and old.
