- Hello my name is La Salle and I explored the length of the Mississippi river and but I thought that I was at the Mississippi river but I was a the Matagorda bay in Texas and built fort St. Louis and I tried to be Karankawa tribe but we didn't get along and their were a lot of droughts and disease so I went to Mexico city for supplies while I was away the Karankawa attacked the fort by 1686 45 of the 400 were alive and 7 of the 45 survivors relizesd that I was the reason and killed me
