I read about how you can change into something called a metamorphic rock through lots of heat and pressure. So over the 1 million years we've been down here we have formed into a metamorphic rock, a non-foliated one to be exact.
We look so different! We are now white with streaks of clay and other minerals that have gotten inside of us during metamorphism! I think we should change our name for the last time to Mary the Marble!
It's because we have been cemented and compacted together through thousands of years and formed a chemical sedimentary rock! To celebrate our change, let's name ourselves Larry the Limestone.
Woah Sam, why are you getting so close to me?
I'm just trying to compact together so we can make a sedimentary rock, Sally! This will also make us strong and we will look different too!
A few Million years later...
Hey Sam, you were right! We have changed in size and colour. I also do feel stronger. We are now a yellowish colour with small rocks, fossils and shells inside of us!
See? I told you Sally!
Meanwhile, 200,000 years later deep in the Earth's crust...
Is it getting hotter in here? It seems like we have moved. Where are we? I wish I was back at the surface. There is so much heat and pressure down here
I can feel it too!
Ahh, it feels so nice to be cool.Oh no! It's getting super rainy and windy! Some parts of me are breaking apart! I think this is the process of weathering.
