His Sweetheart denied the proposal because she saw how greedy he was.
  • Scene 6 - Scrooge's Conversion

  • Then, the spirit of Christmas present comes. The spirit takes Scrooge to Mr.Crachit's home. The spirit shows Scrooge one of Mr.Crachit's children, Tiny Tim. The spirit tells Scrooge he barely pays him enough for food and shelter let alone medical bills. Then, it tells him that he is the one who said he would rather have them die to decrease the surplus population.
  • If he sleeps on Christmas Eve I will be very sad. Tim! He has to sing. It may be the only thing to help him feel better.
  • Finally, the spirit of Christmas yet to come arrives. It shows Scrooge how in the future when he is dead, how his servants will treat him. It shows the charwoman, cook, and Sparsit stealing his clothes right off of him. They don't feel bad because Scrooge never cared for them. Next, the spirit shows how depressed Mr.Crachit is because of Tiny Tim's death. This is when Scrooge realizes he really needs to change before it is too late for him.
  • When Scrooge wakes up after a long night of reflection, he hurries to get dressed. First, he pays a boy to fetch him the prize turkey. Then, he gives the gentleman visitor an apology for the way he acted before. Next, Scrooge gives the prize turkey to the Crachit family. Finally, Scrooge goes to his nephew Fred's house to join them for Christmas dinner. After everything, Scrooge realizes money isn't everything. There is more to life than that.
