- The Patriarch Abraham made a covenant with god promising that if he and his family left Ur and traveled to Canaan, that one day this would be his descendants' promised land. Years later a famine struck in Canaan, Abraham's grandson Jacob and his family fled to Egypt. As the Israelites grew more numerous and practiced monotheism, the pharaoh became mistrustful and enslaved them all!!!!

- Moses was a Hebrew who was raised in the palace of the pharaoh in Egypt. And he wanted to leave the palace because the pharaoh was enslaving the Hebrews. The pharaoh would not let the Hebrew slaves out of Egypt.

- There were illnesses, swarms of insects, and the death of their first born son. Moses told the Hebrews to smear lambs blood over their doorways so that the angel of death would be able to Passover their homes. And Moses’s people would be safe.

- Moses dies in the desert so Joshua his assistant led the armies into Canaan and concord Jericho. The Israelites conquered small kingdoms called tribes… Some settle in the South, North and East.
