  • I'm leaving with Daisy!
  • After being locked in a room by her husband, Myrtle Wilson breaks free and runs into the road. As she is doing this Daisy, driving Gatsby’s car, hits her while trying to dodge another car.
  • Tom reacting to Daisy saying she loves Gatsby
  • You know I love you.
  • There is no way Daisy just said that.
  • At the end of the day, Daisy and Tom Buchanan sit down for dinner. From the outside Tom sees them and thinks “anybody would have said that they were conspiring together” (145).
  • Gatsby lost Daisy when Tom brings up the past and Daisy tells Gatsby he is asking too much of her
  • Tell Tom you never actually loved him.
  • You're asking for too much Gatsby.
  • During the group's time in New York, they checked into a hotel. While there, Tom began to have an argument with Gastby about Gatsby’s upbringing, which spirals into whether or not Daisy loves Tom. It ends when Daisy and Gatsby leave in Gatsby’s car on their way home.
  • Gatsby waiting outside of the Buchanan house until Daisy goes to bed
  • I hope Daisy is okay.
  • One hot afternoon Daisy Buchanan, Tom Buchanan, Jay Gatsby, Nick Carraway, and Jordan Baker get together at the Buchanan's home. Suddenly Daisy grabbed Gatsby, kissed him on the mouth, and said “‘You know I love you,”’(116). Tom, her husband, was astonished and irritated by the actions of his wife and Gatsby.
  • Gatsby expects Daisy to leave her whole life behind just for him, and tell Tom that she never actually loved him.
  • That night Gatsby is waiting outside of the Buchanan's home. He is waiting till Daisy goes home in case Tom might hurt her, but Nick feels that that will not happen because Tom is thinking about Myrtle and not Daisy.
