- To transport Kipps to Eel Marsh House, Keckwick arrives on a pony and trap. As Arthur approaches the mansion, he notices that it is a shattered remains of some old church or chapel.
- Where did she go? Who is she? Why did she come here?
- As Authur was exploring the surroundings, he comes upon a little cemetery with roughly fifty gravestones. He was amazed by the view. He was amazed to see that the Eel Marsh House was indeed an abandoned, isolated place. Authur had never came across such a place before, he was astonished.
- Authur Kipps sees the woman in black again. This time she isdescribed as having an expression of a ‘desperate yearningmalevolence'.
- Authur was determined to find and follow The Woman in Black, to ask questions and receive proper replies as to why she suddenly appeared at Eel Marsh House. But Authur couldn't find her. He began to question about The Woman in Black’s existence; Who she was, or what and how she had vanished.
- As Authur was seriously shaken by the Woman in Black, he decides to return to the house.
- After Arthur finds letters, receipts, legal documents and notebooks in a locked box, he decides to leave the Eel Marsh House and return back to Crythin Gifford.
