- America is where all my mothers hopes lay, in 1949 my mother lost everything her mom and dad ,her husband ,and her two daughters.
- She believed that in American you could be anything, that you could be rich .”you can be a prodigy too” she said to me when I was nine
- We didn’t immediately picked the right kind of prodigy we tried a lot of stuff but in time we saw a Chinese girl playing the piano so my mother made me play the piano
- It wasn’t long after I was participating at a talent show playing the piano, but scince I didn’t quite tried to play the piano correctly my performance went horribly wrong
- I never played the piano after that even when my mother insisten but I could see the disappointment on my mother’s eyes but she had given up hope
- On my 30th birthday my mother offered the the piano to which I said no, shortly after she passed away soI decided to take the piano to my new apartment then I tried playing it and it was easier than I remembered
