- Hey bro, can you help me move this box I have stuck in my house, I need a friend so I can move it, it's a pretty big box.
- Yeah I'll help you out. I can come right now, I have nothing going on.
- I have it on the sled already. So what we are going to do is, I pull it, and you push it, all the way until we get outside.
- This box...is HUGE. I'm glad we aren't going to carry it, but the sled won't work because the floor will get all scratched, we need wheels, the thing mesopatamians made.
- Nah, I think we got it! Plus, who uses wheels these days, am I right? Wheels won't do much we only use them on cars.
- Well, in 3500 B.C.E the Sumerians made the wheel for a reason. Sumerian potters created them to make clay into pottery. It even helps us do most things!
- Are you sure this will work? It looks a little unstable. And these wheels aren't that big, I don't think they can handle this big box.
- It will, trust me. I'll give it a slight push so it doesn't roll too fast, and you just keep it stable. We can get it outside. The Sumerians used wheels to move BUILDINGS.
- Thanks for getting it out for me, the guys in the truck will do the rest. Wait, the truck moves with wheels! And that shopping cart too! And the baby in a stroller!
- Yes, we use wheels for a lot, just like the Mesopatamians used them. They used them to carry goods, to move vehicles, carts you name it! Wheels are important.
- Well, I guess I have learned a lot today. Wheels are important to people, and we are happy for the Mesopatamian invention.
- Yes. We may not notice, but wheels are used for many things. Sumerians used it during war, they got animals to drag food on wheels, almost everything!
