  • Rising Action
  • MOM! Why are you calling my teachers? I told you I would do all my work asfast as I could. WHY DO YOU CARE SO MUCH ABOUT ONE CLASS?
  • I called your science teacher, I asked her for a list of yourassignments. Until you finish half oftheseassignments you will be grounded. I will stay incontact with her
  • My online classes are difficult to keep up with, I'm failing my science class. I haven't been paying attention or doing any of my work. My mom was bound to find out, although I was hopingshe wouldn't, she did. I was on the couch sleeping when my mom suddenly walked in and asked how I was doing in school. I responded Very good in a low voice as I had just awoken.
  • Climax
  • Go back to your room and make sure you do your work.
  • My mom found out about my failing science class because she called to check my grades. She marched angrily into my room and shouted. She shouted at me in a stern, angry tone. I felt my heart drop when she told me she found out about my failing class because she is very serious about my education. I replied to my mother in a wobbly voice. My voice was unstable as I tried to hold back my tears. I was grounded for weeks.
  • Falling Action
  • It's the next day, I go get some breakfast in the kitchen. My mom was there eating, as soon as she saw me she told me she talked to my science teacher. My science teacher gave her a list of all my missing assignments, my mom then gave me the list. She told me I could not watch T.V, be on my phone, or go out until at least half of the missing assignments were complete. I got very upset upon hearing this and began arguing with her.
  • Resolution
  • After eating I went to my room to finish some of my assignments. I was able to finish more than half of the list of assignments since they were all pretty easy. After finishing my work I went to the living room to watch T.V. my mom was already there watching a show. She began nagging at me again, telling me to do my work and to go back to my room. This peeved me and I reacted out of annoyance as I harshly responded to her.
  • I HAVE BEEN DOING MY WORK! YOU JUST DON'T REALIZE SINCE IVE BEEN IN MY ROOM! I JUST CAME TO WATCH T.V. BUT, ILL GO BACK TO MY ROOM! STOP NAGGING ME.
  • I went stomping back into my room and threw myself on the bed. I was so irritated. After a few minutes my anger calmed down. I let out a loud sigh and took my Chromebook out. I went on Aeries to check my grades. To my surprise my grade for science had gone up. I was no longer failing, barely passing but still passing. I felt a wave of satisfaction through my body in that moment. Although I felt relief in that moment I also felt guilt.
  • Seeing my grade go up gave me the motivation I needed to finish my list of missing assignments. After a few hours I had finished all my assignments and fell asleep. I woke up early and went to the living room to watch T.V. To my surprise my mom was already watching T.V. I felt the same way as last night, guilty. I remembered everything I told my mom last night and immediately apologized. I realized my mom only wanted the best for me and for that, I am grateful.
  • I'm sorry mom, for what I said last night. I am truly grateful for you. My grade for science went up, I am no longer failing. I understand now that you only want the best for me. Although I might not want to do some of my work from now on I will do my best to keep up with all of it. Again I'm so sorry.
