- 6 young men, Bosnian Serb terrorists had made an oath to kill the Archduke: Franz Ferdinand
- On the date of June 28th, 1914, Franz Ferdinand and his wife were in a small caravan of cars going through the town of Sarajevo
- The 6 teenagers were all placed along the route of the duke and were all equipped with handguns, bombs, as well as cyanide capsule which they promised to swallow if caught
- At 10:15, the cars passed Mehmed basic, the first one on the route. He wimped out, did nothing, and escaped.
- The next assassin: Cabrilovic, also got scared, but as the cars passed he threw his bomb, then swallowed his poison and jumped in the water. Franz saw the bomb coming and threw it off his car injuring several behind it. Because of this, they changed the route, and the other assassins on hearing the explosion left with the though the archduke is dead, all except for one.
- The only assassin that didn't leave was Princip, he went to a cafe nearby and all of a sudden the archduke's car was next to him, this was because of a mistake by the driver because of the new route. Princip shot 2 shots, 1 pierced his neck, the other ricocheted into his wife's stomach. The poison of the assassins didn't work so they were caught and imprisoned.
