- Mrs. winters said that Charles would not wake while she and Mr. Winters were going out to the movies. She gave Harriet simple but weird directions about the baby'. She told her not to give baby Charles a bottle or anything. Before the Winters left they told her not to open the baby's door because it would squeaked to loud.
- Harriet got bored and decided to explore the house and look through the Winters things. Once she settled down she went near baby Charles room. She leaned against the door and tried to open it realizing it was locked. What she did was just stand there and listen for breathing but heard nothing. She started wondering what Charles looked like and wondered how old he was.
- Once the winters got home they gave her to much money and never asked her about anything. Mrs. Winters didn't say anything she just waited for Harriet to leave before going upstairs. Mr. WInters took Harriet home and said something about his wife but Harriet understood. Once he dropped her off she was standing outside her house and watched as Mr. Winters left.
