- In the beggining grandfather goes to the bazaar and buys a 4 foot long python from the snake charmer. He also shows off the fact that he has it around his neck.
- Climax
- There are 2 conflicts. The first one is when Grandmother and Grandfather have an argument over the python's stay. The secondone is when the narrator and Grandfather try to capture the python.
- Falling Action
- Grandfather locks the snake in the bathroom for safekeeping but finds the python missing and declares it had escaped through the open window.
- Resolution
- The python poped up in unusual places when Aunt Mabel visited for example the guave tree, the cushion, the dressing table and it loved looking at its own reflection. Aunt Mabel left but grandmother and grandfather tried to find it but it was very difficult.
- Grandfather finds the weakness of the python, that he has become a narcissist, and makes a trap that has a mirror, juicy food and a open trapdoor at the entrance. The narrator finds the python gazing at his reflection, the next morning in the cage, and closes the trapdoor.
- Grandfather leaves the snake in the jungle, but he didn’t have the heart to take the mirror because it was the first time he had seen a snake fall in love.
