When I was 18 my best friend died in a car accident. She was my rock and was always there for me. Without her I was nothing, I didn't want to live in a world where she wasn't a part of it. I lost all faith in God and I blamed Him for her death.
I went into a depressive state during my senior year. I completely let my self go, my grades were dropping and I was failing school.
Then I found out that I didn't get into college and I was devastated. This is when I knew I had to get my life back together again
I went to therapy with Dr. Rivera and she recommended a support group.
This is my support group. This group has really helped me open up more. It is a safe space and we all feel comfortable talking together
One day after our session, one of the members, Maggie, came up to me and asked...
Hey do you want to join me at my local church. I have been going there since...you know.... and I was wondering if you would like to come with me
I am not feeling too religious at the moment, but I will go with you
