- It's for their own good, the drug will have them forget all sadness, be merry, and will erase bad memories from their minds.
- Book one: Athena's Crafty Nature helps her to think before launching the attack, shown in several points in the book. It helped me to understand the goddess of wisdom's wisdom.
- Eurylochus
- Something's wrong here. I'm going to stay outside
- Let's follow her, this is Greece for goodness sake! We are welcomed with food!
- Book 5: Calypso's decision to release Odyss. show's she is a god-fearing girl. It helped me understand her more because at first she's bad, she has no heart; But now it shows she respects gods, and is not all bad.
- Telemachus
- Ahtena, please listen. You saw my house yesterday, and you told me to go find out what happened to my dad. But every time I try, those marriage obsessed freaks stop me!
- Book 6: Helen is thoughtful, she expresses this trait because in this scene because she wants the guys to be happy, so she tries to drug the guys. It helped me understand her more clearly because not much is about Helen, and this is one part where she expresses herself.
- Book 10: Eurylochus shows the trait of instinct. He suspects something with Circe, and stays human and reports it to Odysseus because of it. This helped me to understand him through this rare scene that shows one of his traits.
- Book 2: Telemachus shows he is a man of humility and reason. He knows Athena is more powerful than him, and she wants to, and can, help him. So he allows her. This helped me to understand Telemachus more clearly because this is in the beginning of the book, where we just begin to learn about the characters.
