- Green Wood was a thriving community. They had many shops and restaurants. They invested the money from those businesses right back into Green Wood. They did this because they couldn't do business with the white people. So Green wood became strong with money.
- White residents were deputized and given weapons from the city. These white residents attacked black businesses and homes. They destroyed over 35 square blocks of Black Wall Street. At the time the official recording of the number of deaths was 39 dead. But the commission gave several estimates ranging from 75 to 300 dead.
- It was very hard for the residents of Black Wall Street to build back. It was hard because of the fire ordinance. They did not have enough money to get the proper materials to rebuild. They were having problems with fire insurance so it was to hard to rebuild The black residents of Green Wood were not getting access to the justice system.
