- Odysseus gets asked to leave Ithaca and go to Troy to lead an army in the Battle of Troy.
- Stage 5: Crossing the Threshold
- Odysseus does not want to leave his wife and son so when they come to take him, he pretends to be a crazy man so he won't have to leave.
- Stage 6: Tests, Allies, Enemies
- Athena took pity on Odysseus and she gives him gifts and information to help him on his journey. She also convinced the god's to help him escape from Calypso's island.
- The Gods were mad a Odysseus so they sent a storm that set Odysseus off course. He is now completely separated from his and beginning a long journey.
- Odysseus is faced with many trials including Polyphemus, the Circones, the Lotus eaters, Lastrygonians, the Sirens, Scylla, Charybdis, and the Cattle of the Sun God.
