- In 1665 Robert Hooke was the first to discover the cell! Little did he know it would lead to so much more discovery...
- WHAT IS THIS??? I WILL CALL THESE "CELLS" BECAUSE THEY LOOK LIKE ROOMS!
- A few years later, Anton Van Leeuwenhoek discovered bacteria and protozoa. By making this discovery, it would open up the world of germs and things that make us sick.
- Then, Matthias found out that all plants are made up of cells and cells are their basic building block of life! This discovery became a big part of the cell theory!
- Theodore said that all animal tissues are mad of cells. He added to the cell theory that the cell is the basic unit of life.
- Lastly, Rudolph Virchow was observing cell division and stated that cells can only come from existing cells.
