Storyboard Leírás

John 13 records Jesus washing the dirty feet of the Apostles. He did this to show an example of Servant-leadership. Peter rejected this and, at first, would not allow his Master to wash his dirty feet as if Jesus was his servant. Jesus responded, "Unless I wash you, you have no part with me." Jesus, I believe, was speaking of relationship. Peter then replied, "not just my feet but my hands and my head as well!" Peter knew he wanted a full and complete relationship with Jesus. However he was still missing the point that true relationship means serving one another. Jesus then said,"A person who has had a bath needs only to wash his feet; his whole body is clean. And you are clean...". Jesus, I believe, was telling Peter that one who has already submitted their life to Christ is "clean"; however, even a Christ-follower, living in (walking in) a broken world filled with pain, struggle, brokenness and temptation will sometimes stumble (sin=dirty feet) and is in need of cleansing. This cleansing is done through, or the result of, confession and repentance...calling out to God with sincerity, transparency and truth of our rebellion against Him,turning away from sin and turning to God. This is the story of God's grace to me. It may be your story as well...only you can say.

Storyboard Szöveg

  • There once was a boy who lived a very "dirty" life.
  • All his family and friends also lived very"dirty" lives.
  • Then, one day, a Stranger came to visit with them and told them how they could be clean.
  • At first they were all angry and did not want to listen to the Stranger.
  • Then everyone left the room angry...except the boy. It was through this visit with the Stranger that he realized how "dirty" he was and his need to take a "bath".
  • Most of his family and friends said the stranger was wrong. They liked their lives just the way they were. They liked being covered with "dirt". The boy, even though his family and friends laughed at him, was very tired of the dirt in his life and decided he wanted to take a "bath".
  • "Lord Jesus. I understand now that I have lived a very "dirty" life. I want to be "clean". Please come into my life and make me clean.
  • ???!
  • After the boy finished taking his "bath" he felt clean for the first time in his life. He felt much better. But he was not sure how to stay clean.
  • "How do I stay clean?"
  • He went to the Stranger and asked him...
  • Thank you!
  • Bible
  • The Stranger gave him an "instruction manual" on how to stay clean and told him...
  • "If you read this 'instruction manual' and put what you read into practice in your life you will find the answer to your question."
  • Bible
  • "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son..."
  • The Stranger also told him, "If you ever feel lost and don't know which path to take...just call for me and I will be there for you."
  • Help!
  • The boy was very happy...at first, and took the "instruction manual" home to read.
  • Bible
  • Soon, however, he became bored with the "instruction manual" and began to again hang out with his "dirty" friends and play "dirty games".
  • But something inside the boy had changed! He soon found out that the dirty games were not fun anymore. They were not as exciting and they made him feel really "dirty"!
  • I don't like feeling "dirty"!
  • Also...as he looked at his friends, who had never taken a "bath", he noticed that their whole bodies were dirty; but when he looked at himself he saw that only his feet were dirty; the rest of his body was still clean!
  • I remember!
  • He then remembered the time when he made the decision to take a "bath" and how he really liked being clean...all of him, including his feet!
  • He immediately stopped...turned around and began walking away from the "dirty" people and the "dirty" games and went looking for the Stranger.
  • Lord Jesus...help me please. I need you!
  • When he could not find the Stranger he began to cry. He then remembered the Stranger's promise that if he ever needed him all he needed to do was call.
  • As he called for the stranger his tears began to fall on his feet. He watched with joy as the dirt was washed away.
  • "Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet you also should wash one another's feet. I have set an example for you that you should do as I have done for you." Jesus...as recorded in John 13:14
  • "...A person who has had a bath" (received Christ) "need only to wash his feet" (confess, repent and ask forgiveness when he sins); "his whole body is clean." (he is covered by the sinlessness of Christ, through his belief in Him). See John 13:10
