- How are you so happy? During all this chaos how do you find a way to possibly meditate!? It makes no sense!
- Ashoka was going to be the third ruler of the Gupta Empire, and was also known most for being the grandson of it's founder.

- Ashoka led his army against Kalinga and when the Mauryans won, hundreds of thousands of Kalingans were killed or sold into slavery.

- Ashoka saw a Buddhist monk meditating in a street in the middle of the chaos and destruction and wondered how such a man could be so happy!
- Death
- After the monk explained to him how to be more peaceful, Ashoka changed his ways and became a Buddha which meant he supported non-violence.
- Ashoka was married five times and had five children. He married three of which out of love and the other two were for political reasons. Maharani Devi was his most recent and his favorite because she was also a Buddhist. He had two girls and three boys.
- Ashoka died around 232 BC. He died naturally and was ruler of the Gupta Empire for 36 years. His wife died around 242 BC and their five kids had a happy life.
