- It was cold and wet outside, but the blinds were drawn and the fire was going. Father and son where playing chess while the old white-haired lady was knitting by the fire .
- Climax
- Sergeant Major Morris sat the paw on the table and told them about the 3 wishes and story about the monkey's paw. Then Morris threw it in the fire but Mr.White insisted on keeping it.
- Falling Action
- Mr.White wishes for 200 pound to pay off his house loan and the monkey paw moves in his hand. But no money appears. The next day his son Herbert went to work. But during the day a man approached the house to tell the Herbert got caught in the machines and died. He then said they got compensation of 200 pound.
- Resolution
- After Mr.White made the wish for his son to come back to life. A little while later something was knocking on the door. Mr.White was scrambling to find the monkeys paw while Mrs. White was trying to unlock the door.
- Mr.White wishes for what ever is at the door to go away.
- (pretend the door is open) Mrs. White finally opens the door and wail's in disappointment of her son not being at the door. Instead she see's nothing but a flickering street light.
