Midwest Geography
Lakes and RiversThe Midwest has many important waterways, including the Mississippi River, the Missouri River, and the Ohio River. Before railroads, these rivers were key in moving products and goods. Four out of the five Great Lakes border the Midwest region; the Great Lakes hold 1/5 of all of the fresh water in the world!
