- Persephone was picking flowers with her maiden when suddenly she saw a very beautiful flower that was purple and white with a hundred blossoms.
- As she grabbed the beautiful flower, the earth opened around her and she was grabbed by Hades.
- For nine days, Persephone's mother, Demeter searched everywhere and asked everyone if they knew where her daughter was.
- Have you seen my daughter?
- When finally Phoebus Apollo told her that she had been taken away by Hades and she would now be his queen. This sent Demeter into deep despair.
- Hades took her with Zues' permission and she now has to dwell in the land as his queen.
- Demeter took her form as an old woman. One day she came across a group of four young girls and she told them a story.
- I was captured by pirates to be sold for a slave!
- When she was done, the little girls told her that their mother was looking for someone to nurse their newborn brother. When the baby was in Demeter's care, she put him on top of the fire to make him immortal.
- One night when Demeter was nursing the child, the mother saw what she was doing and she ran over and snatched the child. This made Demeter even more depressed and she refused her duties as the goddess she was.
- I would've made your son immortal, but now that's impossible. He shall be a great hero, but in the end he will have to die!
- After Zues thought their community had enough, he sent Hermes to Hades to bring Persephone back to the light.
- As Persephone and Hades parted, he wanted Persephone to eat something with him. He gave her a pomegranate and she ate seven seeds.
- Since she ate seven seeds, seven months of the year she had to come back and be with Hades , and that is when the trees shed their leaves, but for the rest of the month she would come and spend it with her mother and that is when flowers bloom.
