- Julia is killed in her bedroom.
- Helen goes to Holmes to try to get the mystery of her sister's death solved.
- Dr. Roylott shows up at Holmes house because he followed Helen to see what she was going to do.
- Holmes and Helen make a plan to go to Dr. Roylotts house to see what is actutally happening at night.
- Holmes learns that there is a fake bell pull and vent in Julia's room. There is also a safe and a saucer of milk in his room.
- Holmes stays in Julia's room and hits the snake back into the vent. This causes the snake to turn on Dr. Roylott, killing him.
