- Male lions work together to defend their territory. They defend their territory by roaring. Their roar can be heard up to 5 miles away.
- The girls go hunting together. They work together hunting by surrounding their prey and attacking one animal together.
- Once the boy lions reach about 2 years old they are chased away from their pride. These male lions now go to find a new pride to take over.
- A lion lives in a group called a pride. A pride usually has 3-40 lions in it but only 2 adult males are allowed in each pride. The pride stay together unless there is not enough food for all of them.
- Female lions in the pride take care the young lions. Female lions in the pride stay with their pride so they are normally sisters or cousins.
- Lions top speed is 35 miles per hour.
- Lions sleep about 20 hours per day.
- Lions live about 8-10 years.
- Lions have re-trackable claws.
