Storyboard Szöveg

  • Your old age has been getting to you, you are delusional. Out of your mind!! "Men so disordered, so debauched, and bold/ That this our court, infected with their manners/ Shows like a riotous inn"(I.iv. 238-240).
  • Real daughter's do not betray their fathers like you have. "Call my train together/ Degenerate bastard, I'll not trouble thee/ Yet have I left a daughter"(I.iv. 249-251).
  • Why is everyone against me? Yes, I am getting old, but I am still a wise king.
  • Sir, your daughter's are not as loyal to you as you are to them. You will understand shortly, but this travel is unncessary.
  • This letter shall explain it all. Regan will not allow Lear and his hundreds of knights in her castle after reading this. Our plan is working, we will take over.
  • ReganThe King is losing his mind, him and his knights are obnoxious guests. They are coming your way. We are being manipulated and I am in fear. - Goneril
  • Goneril and Lear discuss the way his knight's have been acting. Lear and his knights have been obnoxious guests and Goneril begins to stand up for herself. Similarly to Cordelia, Goneril begins to act out towards her father.
  • The Fool explains to King Lear that Regan will not treat him any better than Goneril did, "Shalt see thy other daughter will use thee kindly; for/ though she's as like this as a crab's like an apple/ Yet I can tell what I can tell"(I.v. 14-16). King Lear and his knights leave to attend Regan's castle.
  • Goneril gets Oswald, her servant, to deliver a message to Regan and explain how Lear is losing his mind. Lear is on his way to Regan's when Oswald goes to deliver this letter. End of Act 1.
