- One day, he observed Sarah Nelmes, an milkmaid in his town get infected by cow pox.
- Ruby starts to explain the story of vaccination. And Jane and Jennie listened.
- Jenner tested his theory by inoculating James Phipps , an eight year old boy. He was a gardener's son. Jenner scarped pus from the cowpox blisters on the hands of Sarah.
