- Nope, I didn't have enough knowledge in Biology to get in.
- It was something I should've learned about in high school, about phosphorus or something?
- I got in, so maybe I can help you. What exactly was it in Biology that you struggled with?
- I see, I'm guessing you're stumped on how it travels through the biosphere, correct?
- Yes, that's exactly what one of those questions were. If you know, can you explain how the phosphorus cycle works?
- Of course! After all, you can't be a fireman if you don't have the phosphorus cycle memorized.
- First, animals such as cows, eat plants and leave off phosphorus on the grass.
- Then, decomposers in the soil break down the phosphorus.
- Plants absorb phosphorus from soil which brings us back to animals eating plants, repeating the cycle.
- Another way phosphorus moves through the biosphere is through weathering and erosion
- The sediments formed in the ocean uplift into the atmosphere over time.
- The weather washes up the phosphorus into rivers, eventually running off to oceans
- And that's pretty much all there is to it.
