- I will not help someone who would give up everything they believe in.
- The parson denied the apothecary's request, not because of prejudice but because the yew tree protected the church from harsh weather. But one day, the parsons' twin boys became very ill. No prayer, doctor or medicine helped.
- The Second Tale: The Apothecary and the Parson
- The parson swallowed her pride and begged the apothecary for forgiveness and to heal her sons. The parson offered the apothecary the yew tree, sermons in her favour, sending all of her followers to the apothecary for treatment, anything the apothecary desires in return to heal her sons.

- The apothecary denied the parson and her deal. Because when times were easy the parson almost destroyed the apothecary. Yet when things got tough the parson was ready to abandon every belief to save her sons.

- Conor?
- That night the parsons' sons died. The parson had a good heart but was wrong-headed this prevented a treatment and the healing of her sons. That night the monster came walking.
- Shortly after midnight, the parsons' home was ripped from its foundation. The parson suffered because the apothecary was bitter and surly but she was still a healer. But, the parson was nothing. She lived on belief yet, believed fearfully.
- Tell me, Connor O'Malley would you like to join in?
- The monster whispered "Now that, is how destruction is properly done" and suddenly Connor returned to his grandma's living room. Conor saw that he had almost destroyed every corner of it.
