- Cissie, a mid-twenties female, is talking to her friend Anita about how she's been experiencing major mood swings, racing thoughts, and she's not sure what's happening to her. She can't get into a doctor for a month. She's unsure of what to do. Anita suggests they go to the medical library near them to ask a librarian.
- Cissie explains to the librarian the symptoms she's been experiencing and how they're making her feel. She expresses anxiety over what is happening to her and how she feels at a loss of what to do. Anita speaks to a few changes she's seen in her friend like rapid and loud speech as well as intense increased energy followed by periods of prolonged depression.
- Hello, I'm the medical librarian on staff. How can I be of assistance today?
- That must be really frightening for you to go through. I am sorry you're having to deal with that. I am not licensed to give a medical diagnosis, but how about we look up your symptoms together? It sounds like it may be mental health related.
