  • Geography & Location Of Rome
  • The Myth Of Romes Foundation(The Story of Romulus and Remus)
  • Influencing on Engineering(Etruscan)
  • From 700 to 476 BCE. The Ancient Roman Civilization would be flourished. Ancient Rome was located in Italy, which includes a peninsula(Reaches into the Mediterranean Sea) and some islands in southern Europe. The peninsula looks like a boot pointing toward the island of Sicily.
  • Influencing on Sports(Etruscan)
  • The Romulus & Remus story was about one princess who gave birth to both Romulus and Remus, their father was the god of war. Otherwise known a Mars. The king was afraid of them growing up and taking his throne. So he hired people to take them down to the Tiber river for them to drown. A while after they were put into the water, a wolf found them and saved them both. While growing up, they began to build towers on the bank of the Tiber River. Afterwords after an argument. Romulus killed his brother and the town was named after him.
  • Influencing on Architecture(Greeks)
  • A way the Romans became experts is because they would be inspired by many things involving Greek and Etruscan Stuff. Etruscan engineering was one of the first. Two of the most important structures that were by the Etruscans and adapted by the Romans were the Arch and the Cuniculus. Etruscan Arches would be stood on two pillars, which is supporting semi-circle stones. A keystone held the stones together. A Cuniculus is a really long trench connected by shafts to the ground above it.
  • Influencing on Religion(Greeks)
  • Romans would also adapt two violent sports apart of the Etruscans. The first bloody sport was slave fighting. One Etruscan custom was for staging two slaves fighting during a funeral. Whatever slave won would be executed. The other Etruscan sport that most would watch is chariot racing. Most would watch this because if the chariot would overturn, the person could fall out and get killed because of the other horses/racers.
  • Greek Architecture was one of the many important influences on the Romans. Greeks would construct Marble Temples made as homes for their god. Romans would use most Greek designs in their public structures. They then would start using concrete and would be able to create bigger structures. Romans would also use concrete to build large stadiums like the Colosseum. There was also the Circus Maximus, where people would go to watch chariot races. Circus Maximus could hold up to 200,000 spectators
  • The Romans and Etruscans both love Greek pottery. To the point where Rome completely borrowed from the Etruscans ideas and Greek's pottery design. All of the Greek pottery is valued in the Mediterranean world. The influence of the Romans using Greek art & Sculpting is called Greco-Roman Art. Along with the Greek Art. The Romans also had their own style of art which is seen in a lively and realistic compared to Greek art. This realistic & Greek style would usually be used for Great leaders and gods, along with normal beings.
