- Amazonian deforestation, industrialization, and some global factors are the reasons. Now let us travel and I will show you the terror.
- CNN says, "It is considered vital in slowing global warming. The Amazon is often referred to as the planet’s lungs, producing 20% of the oxygen in the Earth’s atmosphere"(Yeung). But the people here are creating visual monstrosities and we need to do something about it.Let's talk to some locals.

- Yes, i know who you are, and i bet you want to know why we are cutting down the rainforest?
- To begin, we do not have much money and the only jobs out here are in logging, ranching, and sustenance farming. We are feeding our families by burning down a very small portion of the forest to create farmland and get charcoal. The FAO says, "Nearly half of earths total agricultural land area is required for ruminant livestock, which includes cows, sheep goats, and buffalo" (FAO). Also, Oxford recently released a paper documenting that the, "Amazon plants consume 60 percent of the oxygen the rainforest produces... and microbes, which break down the forest biomass, take up the other 40 percent (Malhi). Science Mag AAAS says," There was a whopping 25% decrease in the annual area burned globally from 1998 to 2015, thanks mainly to economic growth. That growth created jobs in cities for people, allowing them to move away from slash and burn farming"(Andela).

- Silly aboriginal you have so much to learn. We only want to help, and that doesn't happen.
- No Al, you are always coming in here with some kid talking about how the poor people are the problem. You have all the heat and food you want, and you come here because we want the same thing. - "Between 500 and 1350, forests went from covering 80 percent of western and central Europe to covering half that" (Williams). You've already benefited off of cutting trees, and now that we want to benefit you want it to stop.

You've just built up this narrative that you need to save Africa, but it's not like that at all.

- Well it seems the only things you guys do is create narratives of rich foreigners saving the poor.
- By helping, you mean the UN reporting, "Thousands of tonnes of e-waste are falsely declared as second-hand goods and exported from developed to developing countries, including waste batteries falsely described as plastic or mixed metal scrap, and cathode ray tubes and computer monitors declared as metal scrap" (UN). You recycle so you don't feel so awful about wasting all of your used materials.
- Well we are really helping your energy sector. We are trying to get you to leap frog the world to build you guys up.
- So like in India when GreenPeace, "Wants India to stop all new coal mining and coal-fired power plants because the resulting carbon emissions would contribute to climate change. The hitch is that about 400 million Indians, mostly in rural Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, remain without power" (Vaidyanathan). Or how about the funding stopped by Non Profit Organizations, "Where Lending for agriculture had declined from 20 percent of official development assistance in 1980 to 3 percent in 2005 when the food crisis hit" (QTD Apocalypse Never). And their justification was they were 'not pro poor.' We just want some of the pleasantries you take for granted everyday.
- Wait, you are not incredibly poor. That doesn't really make sense. We have to go now, thank you for your time.
- Or, 'the stopping of over 217 dams from being built in developing nations' (International Rivers). You are incredibly quick to blame developing nations as the problem. Do you every think stopping others from succeeding is a problem? Thank you for ruining my camping trip by the way.
- Now our heroes travel to ,"Gore’s 20-room mansion (not including 8 bathrooms) that consumes more energy in a month than the average American household does in a year. It says the average bill for electricity and natural gas runs over $2,400 per month" (Fader).
- I know that seemed like those people we talked to today didn't need our help. But they are small parts in a larger world. A world in which our worst case scenario is going to happen.
- It seems like you've had some bias so far, so I am going to fact check what you are saying.

- The first stop is increasing temperatures. "Indeed, the consequences of a 4C warmer world are so terrifying that most scientists would rather not contemplate them, let alone work out a survival strategy" (Vince).
- Actually, The U.N. Food and Agricultural Organization concludes, "Food production world wide will increase by 20-30% by 2050 (FAO). Technological change significantly outweighs climate in every FAO scenario.
- Well even so, there will be a major food shortage.
- They have done more economic damage. But that is due to inflation. When damages from hurricanes have been adjusted, "$200 billion for the year 1926...exceeding $145 billion in 2005" (Pielke). The IPCC has stated, "Theres little evidence of a spike in the frequency or intensity of floods, droughts, hurricanes, or tornadoes" (IPCC).
- Thats not even the biggest problem though. "There’s now evidence that the unnatural effects of human-caused global warming are already making hurricanes stronger and more destructive. The latest research shows the trend is likely to continue as long as the climate continues to warm" (Berardelli).
- Based off of what we just looked at that appears to be untrue. Now that I think about it, let me see that article. I want to look into it more than just the headline.
- "The world is on track for a "ghastly future," an international group of scientists has warned, with accelerating climate change and biodiversity loss threatening the survival of all of the planet's species unless world leaders face up to the challenge and act urgently" (Kottasova).
- Wait a minute. This article was written in 1989.
- This was not done as a climate denier. There are problems on earth that are created by human. There is no denying of that. The problem comes from people in office positions, who try to manipulate others into following them. Most of the things climate alarmist say are true. Scenarios where; temperatures rise 5 degrees, the Amazon jungle producing oxygen, sea levels rising by 2.7 meters. But all of these previously announced scenarios were the very extreme scenario 15 years ago. Now these numbers are obsolete. We are in a much better place then we were 20 years ago in terms of climate change. We can do better because there is always room for improvement. But by staying informed, we can still improve and not believe we are ending the world.
- The IPCC wrote, "Global temperatures today appear much more likely to peak at between two to three degrees centigrade over preindustrial levels, and the International Energy Agency now forecasts carbon emissions in2040 to be lower than in almost all the IPCC scenarios"(Shellenberger).
