- Gilgamesh was designed by the goddess Aruru, he was given superior beauty by the sun god Shamash and courage by the storm god Adad. With all the gifts the gods had given him, he was the strongest human being ever.
- Later in life, Gilgamesh became king of Uruk. The people were unhappy under his rule, because although he was two thirds god, he was plagued with the weaknesses such as selfishness, self-righteousness and pridefulness. The people prayed to the gods to end Gilgamesh's tyranny.
- The god's replied by sending Gilgamesh a challenger created by the king of the gods Anu, a man called Enkidu. Enkidu was raised by animals in the wilderness before he was discovered by a hunter, who sent
