Storyboard Szöveg

  • All the greek gods were attending a wedding, and they excluded Eris (goddess of strife and discord). She went to the wedding and throwed a golden apple that was addressed to “the fairest”. Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite wanted the apple, so they asked Zeus.
  • Zeus: “I refuse to answer. Let Paris, a mortal man, satisfy your question.”
  • Hera: “Who among us three can have this apple?”
  • One day when Prince Paris of Troy was out on the foothills of Mount Ida, he discovered three lovely goddesses. The goddesses asked Paris who is the fairest among the three of them, and asked him to give the apple to whoever he chooses.
  • Hera: “Prince Paris, choose me and I will give you great wealth and power.”
  • Aphrodite: “Give it to me, and I shall give you the love of the most beautiful woman on earth.”
  • Prince Paris gave the apple to Aphrodite, and now Helen (the most beautiful woman on Earth) is said to be his.
  • Athena: “I can give you powerful wisdom. Just give the apple to me.”
  • Helen is already married to MenelausHelen was courted by almost all the Achaean leaders. All her suitors made an oath to protect her marriage with whoever she marries. When King Menelaus of Sparta got the hand of Helen and married her, the other leaders kept their promise to come to his aid if something happens to Helen. Helen and King Menelaus lived together in peace.
  • One day, Prince Paris visited Sparta. He looked for Helen, and he found her. Aphrodite made Paris fall inlove with Helen, as what she promised. Paris then absconded with Helen back to Troy.
  • It was not long when King Menelaus realized his wife is missing. He discovered that Prince Paris abducted his wife, and had run away together to Troy. He was furious, and he summoned King Agamemnon of Argos (his brother) and the other leaders (Achilles, Odysseus, Ajax, & etc.).
  • Menelaus:“I have called all of you today, for Paris of Troy has absconded with my beloved wife, Helen. Let us gather all the kings of Greece and combine our armies into the greatest force, and let us sail to the city of Troy and get Helen back!”
  • Agamemnon: “Goddess, Artemis, had been offended when I killed a holy deer and when I boasted about my hunting skill. To appease Artemis, I have to sacrifice you. Only then would the winds come.”
  • All the kings had gathered their fleets and ships, and they are all ready to set sail to Troy. Unfortunately, there was no wind, so they can’t sail. Agamemnon was told that he must sacrifice Iphigenia (his daughter) to appease the goddess Artemis, who has caused the unfavorable weather.(At first, Iphigenia begged his father not to kill her, but she eventually willfully surrendered herself)
  • Iphigenia: “Do as you please.”
