- The final spear of the Whale Rider only left his hand when he casted a blessing that the spear will flourish when mankind needed it the most. With that, the spear soar through 1000 years, and landed for another 150 years.
- The Beginning: Kahu. The news of Kahu's birth arrived, a girl. Koro Apirana was unimpressed, whereas Nanny Flower was in tears, being fearful of the telephone at the same time.
- Nanny suggested naming the baby after their chief, Kahutia Te Rangi. And Koro knew it, he pointed it out but Nanny Flower denied
- Kahu's birth cord was placed at Koro's tribal ground. As then Kahutia Te Rangi would watch over Kahu, lead and guide her.
