Storyboard Szöveg

  • We all know you are going to ace this exam. How do you always do so well?
  • Biology Exam Friday(Study Readings and Notes!)
  • I practice metacognition. I think about my thinking processes. This helps me know my learning strengths and weaknesses. Once I'm aware of my thinking, I adjust my behavior
  • For example, I know that my phone's games and YouTube videos distract me from studying. I always end up scrolling on my phone instead of reviewing my readings. Thus, when I study, I put my phone far away from me so I can focus. This awareness that my phone is a distraction for me is metacognition. I adjust my behavior and put my phone away in response to this metacognition. Metacognition helps me excel in all my classes.
  • Phone down. It is time to study and I know this will just distract me.
  • Metacognition also involves self-awareness and assessment of what I do or don't know. As I read through my notes, I stop periodically to assess what topics I am having difficulty grasping and what I understand. Last week, I didn't understand the mitochondria structure in the unit chapter. I usually list difficult topics to remind myself to study them more in-depth or ask the teacher to explain them in the next class. Again, I am aware of my thinking, and I use this metacognitive awareness to help me improve my comprehension.
  • I don't think I understood mitochondria, but the part about energy made sense to me.
