Storyboard Szöveg

  • Eh? Where are the roads? This is rubbish.
  • Oink. I love mud
  • Yuck. I've got muddy toes.
  • First my sandals, then my chariot!
  • When the Romans arrived in Britain, there were no proper roads.
  • I'm stuck. MUMMY!!!
  • There were some roads, but they were just mud tracks.
  • Zzzzz
  • Chester
  • I'm soooo tired
  • York
  • Lincoln
  • The chariots got stuck in the mud.
  • I know! Let's build some roads!!!
  • Even the army got stuck in mud!
  • This is my groma. It's great for checking stuff is level.
  • It took too long to walk from city to city without roads
  • Exeter
  • London
  • The Roman Army started to build roads across Britain.
  • flint
  • PIG???
  • First a surveyor used a groma to make sure the land was level.
  • Where's all the mud?
  • The soldiers built a bank called an agger. The road was laid on top.
  • Flint, gravel and stone slabs were laid on the agger in a thick layer.
  • stone slabs
  • gravel
  • Humph. Tell me about it.
  • These drainage ditches take forever to dig!
  • This is the life!
  • Poor pig
  • The Romans have stolen my mud. BOO HOO!!
  • The soldiers dug drainage ditches around the sides of the road. Then the road was finished.
  • Now the armies could easily march from city to city.
  • GGRRR! You are dead meat!!!
  • It made pigs very sad.
  • What a waste of time
  • The Romans built their roads as straight as possible.
  • Build it straight over that hill!
  • Winding roads are stupid!
  • Bandits and robbers could be hiding around bends.
  • These roads are built to last for 2000 years.
  • MUMMY!!!!
  • Winding roads meant it took longer to get to the place you wanted to go.
  • How did those clever Romans know what to do???
  • I'm a speedy pig!
  • Roman roads even went straight up hills, rather than around.
  • WHAT??
  • Roman roads were built properly and some are still around today!
  • Bye now!
  • But when the Romans left, the British didn't know how to mend the roads.
  • Let's use these mud tracks instead!
  • Hurray! Lots of mud again!
  • I LOVE MUD!
  • But Roman roads were well made so some are still around today.
  • The Romans didn't like the muddy tracks in Britain.
  • When the Romans left, the British didn't know how to fix the roads so they used muddy tracks again.
  • OINK!
  • So they made lots of very straight roads to march along.
  • So the British ignored the roads and used muddy tracks again.
  • Mud's the best. Remember that!
  • So there were no proper roads any more but at least the pig was happy!
  • This story is all about me (kind of)
  • HEY! What about us?
