While being in Mr. Radar's 5th period class, I had no idea what quality of life issue I would want to research about. At first, I thought drug abuse was going to be the issue I would research since it seemed interesting. The next day while looking at the quality of life issues list again on a word doc, lead paint poisoning caught my eye.
While being on the school's database, I found it very difficult trying to find articles for my issue. I was thinking about trying a different quality of life issue but Mr. Radar helped me multiple times find articles for my topic. After seeing how easy it was to find articles, it started becoming easier for me the more I practiced being on the database.
Identifying a knowledge gap was probably the easiest part of the research process. I thought if people even knew in the first place what lead paint poisoning is. In my experience, before starting this quality of life issue, I heard of the term lead paint poisoning in the past but I was unsure what it really meant.
Formulating a quality of life research question is easier said than done. My expectation was I would think of one within minutes. But this part took me a few days to make it up because the questions from the survey was going to depend on my question.
Lastly, I created my survey. Creating my survey got very frustrating because it was tricky understanding the differences between behavioral, knowledge, and attitudinal questions. In the end, it took me a few days to complete my survey questions and I got it done!
