- Bittering family goes to Mars to escape the war that's happening on Earth. Harry wants to get home quickly but the rest of his family wants to stay
- Harry feels very uneasy about being there and he feels like they just don't belong. Harry begins to notice small changes in the fruit and grass they were growing.
- Harry wanted to try and build his own rocket to go back but everyone else thought he was going insane. Henry's family seemed very lazy and unmotivated.
- Harry notices that his family's eyes are starting to get gold flakes in them and their skin tone is turning dark. His children want to go by different names including, Ttil, Linnl, and Werr.
- The family notices the Martian villas in the distance suddenly look very appealing. Everyone that got stuck on Mars decides to move there for a more simple lifestyle.
- Five years later, a new ship of people come to rescue the others that got stranded. They get out of their ship and begin speaking to the Martians that they found. The new people believe the others may have been hit with a plague and it would explain why they are nowhere to be found.
