Storyboard Szöveg

  • Interactionist approach
  • INTRODUCING: THE BEETLES
  • My parents were listening to this new group, The Beatles.... I didn't realize they were this good!
  • Relationship between Social Networks
  • Hey Grandma! I got your friend request on Facebook, I didn't know you had one?
  • I got it a few weeks ago, my friend Annie was raving about the latest diet trends
  • We are waiting in line for the newest version of the popular children's game Minecraft
  • Word of mouth
  • Everyone in my class has it and I'm the last to buy it
  • It's hard not to notice the latest ads for this game, it seems like everyone wants to play
  • The interaction approach considers the influence of one's friends, neighbors, and online networks on the diffusion of pop cultural tastes in clothing styles, movies, games, etc.
  • Goffman, Self- Presentation
  • Social Networks are the main source into understanding how popular culture trends along with the latest fads and fashions become popular.
  • Symbolic interactionism
  • Remembering our Soldiers
  • "Our knowledge and experience of popular culture is often conditioned by the social contexts in which we interact with other people. Our consumer and cultural tastes are highly influenced by our peers, and/or people that surround our everyday lives."
  • Looking- Glass self
  • Just because people say your not good enough doesen't mean it is true. If you believe it then you will eventually see yourself as it.
  • I'm not good enough to play on the team because I am shorter and slower then all the other boys...
  • Goffman observed how our face to face interactions and how we represent ourselves to people are important in that we almost put up a front or act. In particular, The President for example, needs people to like he or she and for others to see us in a positive light in order to get votes. The election of Donald Trump in particular, seemed like it was a fight/reach for the public to like him and to distinguish what was a front and what was genuine.
  • We live in a world where there are signs all around us that mean and convey different things that could also be actions, or people. Symbols have a shared meaning in a certain culture that is understood by those members in society. For example, during or after the war, some people chose to get a tattoo (an everlasting symbol) in remembrance of those who died or fought for our country.
  • Charles Cooley developed the theory called looking-glass self where he argued that ones perception of oneself is based on how society views him or her. Here with gender, if society views this boy as tough or masculine then he himself will act or percieve himself as that to others.
