- After stealing the mysterious monkey's paw at the royal ball, the royal family sat down to talk about what they wanted to wish for. They had decided to wish that they would receive a whole feast of food. They would walk out into the dining hall and the whole table would be filled with all sorts of rich and delicious foods. The father began to make their wish...
- As he made his wish, the monkey's paw moved, causing him to drop it. The walls shook, the floors trembled. Power went out and everything in the room disappeared.
- As the family entered the dining hall, tears came down their faces and confusion struck. What had happened? Their wish hadn't come true, rather it happened to be the opposite. The daughter and mother begged for the father to make another wish.
- The father began to make his wish. He decided to go with the wish that made the most sense. he wished for everything in the house to reappear and all to be put back in its place. They sat there in silence for a few seconds, but when they opened their eyes, they were no longer in the house.
- The family appeared outside. They huddled together for warmth in the cold winter night. As they stood they felt a sudden rumble and they watched as the castle slowly disappeared..
- They were devastated and all hope was lost. All they could do was sit in the cold winter night. They were freezing and no help was in sight. There was no light, and they only had each other to rely on for warmth.
