My name is Cornado, I was a Spanish explorer in 1540. I went searching along with 1,000 men to find the city of Cibola. We discovered the Palo Duro Canyon, the Pacific Ocean, and the Grand Canyon but we didn't find the city of Cibola. After my expedition, I brought back information about the region and the indigenous people. The result of my journey led to Spain eventually abandoning Texas for more than a century until another country took interest in Texas.

My name is La Salle, I was a French explorer in 1685. I was sent by the King of France to establish a colony at the Mississippi River, along with 400 men. We arrived at the Matagorda Bay by accident and decided to build Fort St. Louis on the Texas coast claimed the region for France. We failed to make peace with the Karankawas and on my way back to Mexico to get supplies, we got attacked by the Karankawas. With the remaining men of mine, we decided to retreat back to Canada only for my men to murder me. My Journey led to Spain becoming alarmed and establish missions in East Texas to keep the French out of Texas.
