Storyboard Szöveg

  • Scene 1: Intro
  • Scene duration: 30sScene Description: Camera pans through a busy barber shop, stops on a person receiving a haircut's reflectionAudio (FX): General Barber Shop Ambience and narration Scene Narration (beginning once camera rests on the reflection): What would our lives be like without mirrors? How much time do we spend peering into our reflections? Their invention is crucial to our everyday lives. Without them, how would we dress ourselves? How would it affect our appearances or how we see ourselves at large?
  • Scene 4: Cultural Impact
  • Scene Duration: 1 minuteScene Description: People bring early mirrors to their royalty. Shots include locales such as early Turkey, Egypt, and China.Audio: Narration throughout shot, Music in background (wondrous-feeling music that fits a new invention), brief dialogue between characters as they look in awe at their reflectionScene Narration: The first mirrors documented were manufactured out of ground and polished obsidian about 8,000 years ago in Anatolia, also known as modern-day Turkey. From 4000 to 3000 BC, mirrors that were made of polished copper were developed in Mesopotamia and Egypt. About 1,000 years later, mirrors in Central and South America were made of polished stone, and mirrors in China and India were made of bronze.
  • Wow, that's amazing!
  • Scene 2: The Invention
  • This new invention allows you to see a reflection of yourself!
  • Scene 5: Societal Impact
  • Scene Duration: 1 minuteScene Description: Reenactment of Justus von Liebig building and developing the modern mirror. Camera pans through a workshop area where different metals and chemicals are being mixed. Audio: Narration throughout, little background noise as the chemist focuses on his work, quiet but intense music in backgroundScene Narration: The modern mirror was invented in 1835 by German chemist Justus von Liebig. His technique to apply a thin layer of metallic silver to one side of a pane of clear glass has been iterated and improved on over the years as it moved onto mass production. Most mirrors today are created by heating aluminum in a vacuum, which then bonds to the cooler glass.
  • Scene 3: The Development
  • Scene 6: Outro
  • Scene Duration: 1 minuteScene Description: Shots include depictions of beauty standards (makeup commercials, fashion shows, and people showing dissatisfaction with their appearance)Audio: Narration throughout, the sounds of TV commercials based on fashion and beautyScene Narration: Mirrors serve a useful purpose as it allows us to see what our makeup or clothes look like, but can also lead to the over-examination of imperfections. We are all more obsessed with how we look than we would like to admit. Standards of beauty have changed across the history of time, and everyone is always looking to “fit in.” Because of the media, we see beautiful people all the time. Whether it’s on a commercial about skincare or if it’s a TV show where grown adults are playing teenagers. Someone who is looking into the mirror may not be doing so out of vanity, but perhaps insecurity.
  • Scene Duration: 1 minuteScene Description: Multiple shots of people driving cars, taking mirror selfies with friends, and looking at their reflectionsAudio: Narration throughout, upbeat music in background, sounds of cars and people laughing according to shotScene Narration: One of the most practical uses for the mirror today is for cars. Every car has two side mirrors and one rear-view mirror. Rear-view mirrors and side mirrors have increased road safety significantly by preventing motor vehicle accidents. Also without mirrors, we wouldn’t have the mirror selfie. The mirror selfie is when a camera is rear faced and is pointing in the direction of a mirror, so when you snap a photo, you will be able to get a photo that would show your reflection. Without the mirror selfie, what would we have done while skipping class with our friends during high school to hang out in the bathroom?
  • Scene Duration: 30sScene Description: Multiple shots of mirrors in use and creative expression that reflect their impact (people at dances, models on a runway, streets packed with cars, friends looking at themselves in the mirror)Audio: Narration throughout, serene music in backgroundScene Narration: Although the mirror has had negative side effects on society, it has revolutionized individualism significantly on a more positive note. From fashion and beauty to transportation, mirrors ad their impact are everywhere. Without the invention of the mirror, self-expression would be nearly nonexistent, as we would be unable to creatively express and perceive ourselves.
