Storyboard Szöveg

  • The 5 Stages of the DTM method in the US
  • Stage 1:
  • Oh no! All of our children are dying from the several diseases we do not yet have the medicine to cure. We will not have enough help on the farm if we don't keep having children.
  • Don't worry! We will continue to grow our family in anticipation of some of them dying. We will also continue to use our natural resources to survive and succeed.
  • Stage 2:
  • We are so fortunate to be living through the industrial revolution! We can now provide proper healthcare, a healthy diet, and a more sanitary way of living for our children.
  • We can also be assured that our children will receive the medical attention they need so they don't die off young.
  • Stage 3:
  • The stages of the DTM method in America
  • WOOF!
  • "welcome home from work mommy!"
  • Our family is fortunate to live in a time where we can insure that our child is receiving proper health care, a clean home, education, and a good amout of food.
  • We are also blessed to be living in a time where we don't have to rely on having many kids to keep up a sustainable way of living. Instead, we can provide our one child with everything she needs.
  • Stage 4:
  • In stage 1, pre-industrial society, death rates and birth rates are high and quite balanced. An example of this stage is the United States in the 1800s. All human populations are believed to have had this balance between birth rates and death rates until the late 18th century.
  • It is so reassuring that my daughter is able to support me in my older years. I would have never imagined living this long. My parents sure didn't. They were not privileged enough to live in a time where the healthcare system was this advanced.
  • our healthcare system will only get better as our economy grows.
  • Stage 5:
  • I am very glad we do not have the responsibility of children yet. It is nice to hang out with friends and enjoy my twenties and even young thirties.
  • In stage 2, the industrial revolution has begun. At this point, the death rates have taken a rapid decrease while birth rates remain high. The United States entered this stage in the early 1900s , late 1800s.
  • Agreed! I also have more time to support my mom and her mother too! She is almost 96!
  • There are also so many amazing job opportunities these days. It would be a shame if I settled down and had a baby before getting to explore my potential as a woman in the workforce.
  • In stage 3, death rates are low and birth rates have decreased. This is due to more stable economic conditions in a country. There is also an increase in women attending school and going off into the workforce. Women also have easier access to contraception. The US went through stage 3 in the early 20th century.
  • I also have easy access to contraceptives and a well paying job.
  • In stage 4, birth rates and death rates are both low which stabilizes the population growth in a country. Countries like the US who have done well economically and have maintained good healthcare, sufficient food supply and a booming economy where women are accepted into the workforce. The US moved into this stage during the early 21st century and has continued to progress since.
  • The fifth and final stage occurs when the birth rate declines so much that it becomes lower than the death rate. During this stage we have seen major growth in the countries economy. There are many opportunities for young women to become successful in the work world. This encourages women to settle down at an older age and focus on their lives before they have children.
