- Stem cells are the cells that all other cells with specialized functions are made from.

- Adult stem cells are mostly found in adult tissue such as bone marrow and embryonic stem cells are found in the blastocyst and have not yet committed to a particular tissue.

- Embryonic stem cells have the ability to differentiate into every type of cell in the the body. Adult stem cells can only replace dead or damaged cells in a specific tissue
- A stem cell transplant can be used to restore healthy bone marrow in patients with leukemia
- What is an example of a disease that can be treated with stem cells?
- Are you in favor or not of doing stem cell research?
- Scientists use fertilized eggs left over from in-vitro fertilization for stem cell research. These are called blastocysts and are usually discarded when not used. Stem cells show promise to treat a wide range of illnesses and I think research should continue.
