- At the beginning of the first chapter Jenna's mom's college friend invites her and Jenna to paradise hotel with her daughter sky. Jenna and sky are not close at all. and during the flight Jenna finds out that Sky and her boyfriend broke up which makes the rest of the plane ride awkward .

- They get to paradise Jenna writes in her quote book, and it is still very awkward between her and sky.
- Jenna couldn't sleep so she went on a walk to find the hot tub. She finds the hot tub and she gets in

- In this part of the book Jenna and Dakota meet in the hot tub. Talk for a while and kiss. Then they find a suicide note, and they are astonished

- Jenna and Dakota see each other the next day and Jenna goes on a boat with Dakota's family (Brother and mom)
- They go back to the hotel and agree to meet the next day but Dakota meets with Sky Instead and he kisses her on the beach
