- god promised Abraham a child so Abraham waited but he got old and still had no kids. god still said he would get children. Abrahams wife Sarah did not believe him. by the time they were in their 90s Sarah got pregnant. when she gave birth she was laughing so they named the baby Isaac which mean laughter.
- Send Prophet to Warn People
- god also promised Abraham many many descendants so that is what he got.
- God Gave Them King David
- eventually they got god promised land but instead they turned there backs and started obeying other god.
- Judges Cycle
- most kings after David did not follow gods rules and made the people follow idols. god sent prophets to warn the people to turn back or they would be put in exile further from the promised land. the people didn't listen.
- the people asked for a king so god promised king David that his family would always rule gods people. one day the king would come an bring the promised blessing to the world this king was call Christ.
- Israelites disobeyed god so he sent them a judge to obey him. once the judge died the Israelites went back to there bad behaviour to be like other religions. this was a ongoing cycle.
