- Duke Theseus of the Athens is with queen Hippolyta the queen of Amazons they are discussing about their wedding that is going to occur in the next four days as duke Theseus is in an exited and impatient mood.

- Hermia wants to marry Lysander and Egeus came to Duke Theseus to tell him about his plan that Hermia must marry Demetrius. Egeus is going to setup a plan for Hermia to decide that she has to marry Demetrius or there will be serious consequences.
- Egeus the father of Hermia come to duke Theseus to protest that her daughter. Duke Theseus agrees the plan then must marry Demetrius and if she refuses she will be sentenced to death or become a nun. Until the day of her wedding
- In a different part of Athens located the rude mechanicals: Quince the carpenter, Nick Bottom the weaver sung the joiner, Flute the bellows mender and, Snout the tinker.
- As Quince starts to explain and choosing the roles for every one including acting for Pyramus, Thisbe and the lion. the parts Bottom is the one constantly interrupting and announcing that he is the one to do all the roles
- After choosing the roles. The rude mechanicals disperses, agreeing to rehearse their performance in the woods the following night.
