sometimes a medieval woman would not get a single break the whole day. they might have worked in the fields, assisting their husbands, educated children and worked in the household. life was tiring. they never got a break.
women also had to maintain their fashion and look presentable and responsible. they had to wear waist to ankle tunics! can you believe that?! they weren't allowed to show any skin on their body. they had to follow severely strict rules and were punished for even the smallest of things including nagging their husband. they were in no position of power and were very inferior to men. even though some women were in higher positions, they didn't get to make their own decisions.
women were seen as children providers, teachers, helpers, servants, cleaners, cookers, etc. they weren't valued as a person or a woman. even women in higher positions couldn't assert their power over men and other people. they were deemed as weak, vulnerable and powerless. women were disrespected and because of that, they never got the chance to be someone or succeed. fortunately, some women ignored all beliefs of them around them and succeeded. many became writers, artists and fighters for their gender.
